WEIG joins the UN Global Compact as an official member

WEIG takes another significant step towards sustainable corporate governance.

Following our CYSA group in Paraguay which had become a member of the UN Global Compact several years ago, the entire WEIG corporate group officially joined the organization as of late 2023. We are now a proud part of a community comprising around 25,000 companies from 170 different countries, all committed to the principles and goals of the UN Global Compact.

Built upon ten universal principles and 17 sustainability goals, the UN Global Compact envisions a more inclusive and sustainable economy for the benefit of all people, communities, and markets, today and in the future. By joining, companies and organisations from civil society, politics, academia, and industry demonstrate their commitment to realising this vision.

The ten principles cover themes such as labour standards, human rights, environmental protection, and anti-corruption. The United Nations’ 17 sustainability goals also play a significant role for us and serve as our guiding light. How important these goals are to us and what measures we take to achieve them as effectively as possible can be found in our current sustainability report.

The WEIG corporate group’s official membership in the UN Global Compact is a crucial milestone on our path to sustainable and future-proof business management. The membership is a clear indication of the high value placed on sustainability and resource conservation within the WEIG group. We are thrilled to be part of this international coalition and will continue to do everything in our power to implement the goals and principles of the UN Global Compact.
